Danzante Wines
"Italian for Dancing"

In 1995, the Robert Mondavi family of Napa Valley and the Marchesi de Frescobaldi family of Tuscany, Italy formed a partnership. The partnership resulted from the Mondavi family's wish to return to their Italian roots. It allowed two great wine producers to work together in creating high quality Italian wines.

Robert Mondavi founded his eponymous winery in Napa Valley in 1966. He produces wines that compare with the best in the world. Frescobaldi has been making wine for over 700 years.

The joint venture now produces wines in Sicily, Puglia, Marche and Tre Venezie.

All Danzante wines are I.G.T. quality. The I.G.T designation was set up to allow greater flexibility for wine makers who wanted to focus on grape varietals, rather than on traditional wine practices that followed Italy's rather antiquated wine laws.

To keep Danzante wines fruity and true to the grapes' natural attributes, only a soft pressing is used to extract the juice. Then the skins are left for an extended period during fermentation to maximize colour. Finally, no oak aging is used. Instead the whole aging process is carried out in steel tanks.

FTI markets one white (Pinot Grigio) and three red varietals: Merlot, Primitivo and Sangiovese.

Other joint ventures between the two families produce Luce and Lucente wines, which are also distributed in the Philippines by FTI
